When politics loses its vision, religion loses its faith, and culture loses its soul; life becomes confused, cheap, and endangered. Nothing less than a restoration of the shattered covenant will save us. That will require a fundamental transformation of our ways of thinking, feeling, and acting. At the core of prophetic religion is transformation—a change of heart, a revolution of the spirit, a conversion of the soul that isues forth in new personal and social behavior… We are suffering today not just from greed, injustice, and violence, but from a lack of imagination. For lack of a vision, we are perishing. We need new visions and dreams; our future depends upon fresh imagination.
